The use of casting carburizing agents can effectively generate and promote the formation of graphite nuclei. A certain proportion of casting carburizing agents are added to the molten iron, some of which are soluble in the molten iron. However, some of the carburizing agents will form carbon in the form of graphite and integrate into the molten iron in granular form. There are also some large casting carburizing agent particles in it. When powered on, these carburizing agents will adsorb in the center of the furnace wall, but if power is cut off, This type of unmelted carburetor will be suspended. Through experimental observation, these extremely small carburetor particles will also be suspended in the molten iron during the graphite melting process, even in the energized state.
In the carburizing process of castings, the selection of carburizing agents is very important. In fact, there are many issues that need to be paid attention to. If not paid enough attention, it will lead to a decrease in the quality of the castings, resulting in defects such as porosity, shrinkage, and gas shrinkage. By using appropriate carburizing agents, good results can be achieved in a suitable furnace.
The nitrogen content inside varies depending on which type of carburetor to choose. Choosing a low nitrogen carburetor will also reduce the harmful substances inside. The titanium content in molten iron is very low, and it will not consume too much nitrogen. This can easily lead to high nitrogen content, large pores, and severe gas shrinkage;
It is a good choice to find pure Anthracite carburant or carburant with better graphitization. Otherwise, it will result in low absorption rate, slow speed, slag, and harmful elements affecting the quality of molten iron; In terms of the addition time of carburizing agents, they can generally be added before, during, and after casting, or at the same time as scrap steel. Adding them in the later stage can also play a pre-treatment role, making the graphite core thicker. Low sulfur and low nitrogen carburizing agents should not be added too much at this time.
Appropriate casting methods can better improve product quality, so everyone should choose from multiple perspectives, compare from multiple angles, and choose the best casting method.
